Cardiff City manager Malky
Mackay is thrilled to have
completed the signing of striker
Peter Odemwingie.
The 32-year-old had fallen out of
favour at West Brom after trying
to force through a deadline-day
move to QPR back in January, and he finally got his desired
departure late on Monday, signing a two-year deal at the
Cardiff City Stadium.
He arrives following an
impressive haul of 30 goals in 67
league appearances for the
Baggies, and Mackay is
delighted to have the
experienced player within his
ranks.
"I'm delighted to sign a player
with a proven record of scoring
in the Premier League," the
Cardiff boss told WalesOnline.
"Peter's record speaks for itself.
"He's versatile, got great pace
and does bring us that bit of experience we need.
"He's an outstanding footballer at Premier League level, an
intelligent footballer with a bit of guile.
"He's going to prove an asset for Cardiff City of that I've
no doubt."
Odemwingie will be hoping to make his first Premier
League start of the season when Cardiff continue resume
their campaign against Hull City Tigers on September 14.
